Stephen A. Brown APM; M.St (Cantab)

Managing Director

Stephen is an accomplished senior executive who served for 35 years with the Western Australia Police Force. At conclusion of his policing career in 2018, as the Deputy Police Commissioner, Stephen held numerous national and state representative law enforcement and emergency management roles, and organisational responsibilities including the overall command of 4,781 operational police and support personnel and an operating budget of $650M.

Stephen’s career included 14 years, at various detective ranks. He is widely recognised for his contribution to criminal and workplace misconduct investigation, in various roles including Superintendent in Charge of the WA Police Kennedy Royal Commission Investigation Team and the Internal Affairs Unit.

Post his policing career Stephen has worked across the private sector as an independent corporate risk advisor; and as a Director with Deloitte Forensic (Perth). Stephen is a Licenced Inquiry Agent and Licenced Investigator in Western Australia, and he holds a Masters in Applied Criminology (Cambridge University UK).

People Assignment’s licenced investigators hold a range of tertiary qualifications including Diplomas and Advanced Diplomas in criminal, workplace investigations and HR. In their former roles, our senior personnel held NV2 (Top Secret) National Security Clearances, which attests to their integrity and trustworthiness. This level of integrity, coupled with our ethical and transparent approach provides an elevated level of confidence to our clients that they have chosen a professional and personable investigative provider, to resolve their misconduct event.

The four most senior personnel within PA collectively have more than 130 years of commercial experience in managing and delivering all aspects of investigation methodology ranging from complaint assessment, triage, forensic audits, witness, and subject person interview through to resolution/prosecution.
